Concept of the product and why:
The purpose of KHFood.com is to allow out-of-state customers to purchase goods in bulk pricing. K H Food is a local food manufacturer in California that mainly distributes its product in California. This company sells all natural roasted peanuts. So the website will only contain 1 type of product to sell which affects design decisions.

Design goals:
We want to create a friendly, trustworthy, and memorable environment with purchasing system. We used PayPal for secure payments and encourage returning customers with familiar safe payment. We also want to reach new younger (age 20’s to 30’s) customers and broaden the customer base to outside of the Asian community in California.

Design process, obstacles, and solution:
Interviewed the founders of the company and reviewed the old website which was made in 1999. The old website was a static informational website with 4 main pages in Chinese. We first restructured the sitemap and moved into creating a new concept and brand which stayed true to the essence of the old design to keep it familiar for long time loyal fans. We also kept the 1 page 1 screen layout since the company only had 1 product in order to stay consistent with the company’s core value.
